MP FOR WASA AMENFI CENTRAL HAS ORGANIZED INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS IN HIS CONSTITUENCY.

The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for  Wasa Amenfi Central, Mr. Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah on Friday, 2, 2018, organized an inter school quiz competition for upper primary and junior high schools in the constituency.

The Wasa Amenfi Central examination officer of the West African Examination Council, Nathaniel Fiifi Sangmoah who stood in for the Member of Parliament during the competition said, the reason for the quiz competition is to equip and prepare the 2018 candidates ahead of the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E).

Amenfi Central District was adjudged 2nd place nationwide in the 2016 BECE result released by the West Africa Examination Council hence the need to keep motivations the pupils to maintain and improve on this performance, thus the need for the competition.

Mr. Sangmoah said, since quality education is the topmost priority of the Member of Parliament, he funded the competition with over ten thousand cedis (GHC10, 000). He hinted that, the   competition will prompt the candidate to read through their books to help recall what they have been thought in the classroom for the upcoming examination.

The Upper Primary schools that participated in the final quiz competition were Agona Amenfi D/A, Joy life international and Manso Amenfi D/A. Sagomens Hiawa primary school also took part in the competition.

Wasa Bekwai, Wasa Akyekyere and Manhyia area 7 with Kyiekrom D/A junior high schools took part in the Junior High School category. Wasa Akyekyere won the competition with 61 points.

Mr. Nathaniel Fiifi Sangmoah advised the students to take the lessons seriously and avoid activities that will hamper their educational developments.
